Process to apply for BC PNP:
There are four main steps to the BC PNP process:
1.Registration (if applicable)
2.Invitation (if applicable)
3.Application
4.Decision
After completing the registration process, candidates receive a registration score based on various factors and are entered into a selection pool. Those meeting specific criteria and scoring above a designated threshold are invited to apply for provincial nomination through a provincial draw. Successful candidates then have 30 days to apply through the BCPNP Online system. Upon receiving a provincial nomination, applicants can proceed to apply for permanent residence with the Canadian federal government.
For the latest updates on draws and invitations, you can refer to the “Latest PNP Draws” button, linking to the Invitation to Apply (ITA) page.

The Skills Immigration Registration System (SIRS) serves as a preliminary step for most BC Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) immigration categories. Here’s how it works:
Registration Process: Potential candidates must first register for free on the SIRS platform by completing all required sections of the online registration. It’s essential to have received an offer of indeterminate, full-time employment* from a British Columbia employer before registering with SIRS.
Eligibility Check: Candidates and their employers must meet program requirements, and the employer should be ready to support the application process. Once registration is complete, each candidate is assigned a registration score. This score is based on various factors including the offer of employment, location in British Columbia, education, language proficiency, and wage.
Expression of Interest: Registering with SIRS indicates a candidate’s interest in applying to the BC PNP for a provincial nomination. However, it’s important to note that this registration is not yet an application for permanent residence.
Invitation to Apply: A candidate’s registration score determines whether they will be issued an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination. The BC PNP periodically conducts draws to invite the highest-scoring registrants from each category to apply for a provincial nomination.
Exceptions: Certain BC PNP categories do not require candidates to register with SIRS. Individuals interested in applying to these categories, such as Skills Immigration – Health Care Professional and Express Entry BC – International Post-Graduate, may apply directly via BC PNP Online.
Not a Guarantee: It’s important to understand that registration into the SIRS does not guarantee an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination.
Application Process: If a candidate receives an invitation to apply for the BC PNP, they will then be required to pay a fee as part of the online application process.
Overall, the SIRS facilitates the initial screening and selection process for candidates interested in immigrating to British Columbia through the BC PNP, streamlining the pathway to permanent residence for skilled workers, international graduates, and entrepreneurs.
